About

I'm a backend engineer with over ten years of experience designing, building and operating distributed systems for products used across Europe and the US. I like owning a system end to end, from the first design discussion to how it behaves in production, and I've helped evolve systems from monoliths to microservices in mission-critical domains.

Today I'm a technical lead at Monta, leading a team of six backend engineers on the platform behind an EV charging ecosystem. I work mostly in Kotlin and Java on AWS and Kubernetes, with Kafka and SQS for event-driven workflows and Prometheus, Loki, Tempo and Grafana to keep production observable.

I've also built production LLM systems: a RAG platform for querying legal contracts, and AI-assisted invoice parsing with validation rules guarding every extracted record. I'm an AWS Certified Developer – Associate, based in Seville, Spain.

  1. 2024 – Present

    Senior Engineer II (Technical Lead) · Monta

    Lead a team of six backend engineers on the core platform behind Monta’s EV charging ecosystem across Europe and the US. Built and own the company-wide feature flag service (RBAC, A/B experiments, gradual rollouts), and built an event-driven CDR reconciliation service from scratch with AI-assisted invoice parsing.

  2. 2023 – 2024

    Senior Software Engineer · Solera (Qapter)

    Led a team of engineers building backend microservices in Java 17 and Spring Boot for Qapter FMS, a global AI-driven vehicle lifecycle and claims platform supporting mission-critical insurance operations. Built event-driven messaging with Kafka and RabbitMQ between services, and load-tested REST APIs with JMeter to validate SLAs.

  3. 2021 – 2022

    Senior Software Engineer · Concentrix

    Built REST APIs in Java and Spring Boot for TrainerBot, a voice-driven employee-training platform, integrating Google Speech-to-Text and Text-to-Speech for real-time conversational flows. Designed the Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and led a small team delivering customer requirements on schedule.

    Built enterprise Java applications for the document management and web reports modules of OpenText Content Server, used by global enterprise customers. Contributed to migrating a monolith to microservices, optimised Oracle data access for large-scale document storage, and remediated vulnerabilities found with Fortify and Burp Suite.
